Warehouse in Ephrata

Next door to the best western in Ephrata, Wa sits a big parking lot where truckers collect in the night to spend some sleep. Birds bath in the puddles of filthy water nestled amongst the Eastern Wa foliage in this parking lot and just beyond is this unused space?
maybe it's used I don't know , hard to say.

This Bridge in Ruins goes nowhere...Packwood, Wa

we recently stayed on Johnson Creek Road in Packwood. It was fantastic , no elk this time around for us but we got a bridge to nowhere.

it was thick with moss and super spongy.

Next to the oldy worldy gas station sits the left over house with deer exploring yard.
Didn't go near as no trespassing signs were all over the place.

Trailer in The woods

One day we tried to go for a hike.
We were distracted by a man who told us there was  no hike, nothing , go away.
his name was paul.
he was bald.
he lived in a quaint little house on the edge of the woods with a tidy lawn. I can't believe the tidiness of some wood lawns, I find it ridiculous and were I to have the same home my lawn wouldn't be a lawn for  a start.
I am going off track.
We got a bit hacked off at Paul as it was public land and a trail listed on the WTA website. The trail was much overgrown and this little crushed gem was at it's start.
the trail not much of a success for a good long hike as just too over grown.

Gas Station , Ashford, Wa

As we descended from the heat of Paradise , Mt Rainer we came upon this Gas Station of yore.
It was hot and sunny - we had never faced this issue visiting Rainer, all four previous times we battled cloud cover and just got glimpses.
This whole week it's been out in the bright blue majesty of sky we would have to leave behind as the week ended.
I have seen this gas station before but never stopped. A deer was exploring an abandoned house behind the gas station, it spotted me and I spotted it.

Paler Mill, Packwood

Paler Mill  on the way into Packwood from Randell.
I love it here. The wildlife, the mountain and  the cherry on top is a little bit of abandonment and disrepair.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the elk trail  cabin which was most welcoming indeed.
Marmots amused inside the park and snakes birds and bats outside.

Aurora Motel at 42nd, Seattle

At 42nd street on Aurora sits this lovely motel, indicative of the area.
I am ashamed for having missed the tear down of the Thunderbird inn that was pretty close to this place.
Equally I am sad I didnt get to this one before the big assfence went up that blocked me from getting any decent photographs.
Aurora is a vast expanse of oddness.
