an exploration of anything derelict, neglected, unloved, inconsequential, easily ignored, reclaimed, re edited, re purposed, recycled, remixed. And anything else out there we try to ignore, the stuff of the crevices of society. The places we don't go and don't talk about, the times we try to forget. A cinematic look at the shadows of our existence.

western mental hospital patient graveyard
my daughters little legs and charles wesley coolly
over 3,200 inhabitants lie in the western state mental hospital patient graveyard, most of them unnamed but by patient number due to the stigma related to mental illness of the time (1876-1953.) the ground here is boggy and its hard to see many of the numbers -as i suppose they have been bogged down. the headstones replacing the lone numbers also contain the patient number in addition to their name (aside from Charles Wesley Cooley the civil war veteran.)
