The Washington Water Power Co, Upper Falls Power Plant

This is where Spokane gets most of it's energy direct from Riverfront Park which i fantastic asset in and of itself- similar feel to seattle center but nicer surroundings.
The Washington Water Power Co. Upper Falls Power Plant.
The Indian name for the Spokane Falls was "Stluputqu", meaning "swift water".
Built in 1929 now known as Avista some history can be found here: discovery school.
Apparently  this asset allows for super cheap electricity in the area, apparently they have cheap gas as well...
nice historical photo.
